Don't Knock the Tchotchkes

What is an outfit without accessories? A shirt and pants. What is a home without accessories? A place to sit. BLAH!! I often hear people say that tchotchkes are just more things to dust (and yes, I did have to look up how to spell that). I say if that's true, get rid of them. Then replace them with items you love, that have meaning or are just plain beautiful and make you happy.

In Jonathan Adler's Manifesto, he states, "I believe that minimalism is a bummer. I believe handcrafted tchotchkes are life-enhancing. I believe that tassels are the earrings of the home..." Oh yes, J. Oh yes.

I mean what would this room look like without the carefully chosen accessories, pillows, tables? Also, you should know as you can see below....brass is back. It's not your mama's brass. It's bad-ass brass and it's gorgeous.
